NUMBER ONE HEALTH PRIORITY
I have asked these questions to hundreds of patients over the years and more so recently. Check this out …
What is the Number One Thing that you need to expand your health, and to feel better?”
“What is your Number One Health Priority?”
“When you consider the current status of your health, what’s important to you?”
Here’s what everyone said:
MORE ENERGY!
ENERGY!
MY ENERGY LEVEL!
I WANT MORE ENERGY!
OH, ENERGY, FOR SURE!
DEFINITELY MY ENERGY STATE!
Yep, without thinking about it, that’s what hundreds of people have uniformly said over the last 6 months as I have focused on this issue.
And it’s any wonder, check this guy. Is he tired or what?
And this lady – what the…?
But for me this one takes the cake and is what’s motivating this email.
Are people so zoned out they can’t climb a few stairs? And is everyone really so weak and exhausted they just can’t be bothered?
The most horrific thing has happened to humans over the last couple of decades … people’s energy level has declined so much that tiredness is now in plague proportions.
Think about it, are you tired yourself?
Do you get everything done in the day that you have to?
Have you got anything left over at the end of the day?
And is your well-being something you’d call ‘great’?
If it isn’t, then it’s time to re-evaluate things.
Why? Because if you continue to go on being tired then everything you are on about in your personal life, your work life and your family life is going to suffer… and that’s a sad reality.
Now the subject of energy is massive and is vastly different for everything but here are a few causes:
-
Lack of sleep
-
Stress
-
Allergies
-
Anaemia
-
Post viral conditions
-
Adrenal exhaustion
-
Hypoglycaemia
-
Inefficient digestion
-
Bowel issues
-
Worry/Fear
-
Low thyroid function
-
Lack of fitness
-
Pain
-
Depression
-
Inflammation
-
Hormones
-
Cardiac weakness
-
Lung disturbances
-
Drugs
So what can you do today to have some sort of immediate effect on your energy level?
Well I hate to say it, and you’ve heard before but … Go and do some intense exercise and get your heart rate right up there and sweat.
In fact if you haven’t already done so, commit today to include an exercise program into your lifestyle … and decide to keep doing it forever.
Ever had a Stress Echo? …
The other day a patient described what happened to him after going for a Stress Echocardiogram which involves getting monitored for 12 minutes on a treadmill as the speed gets faster and the incline gets higher. (He said he felt awesome!) It’s designed to push you so your heart rate climbs really high, and yes it’s also designed to be hard. And when people walk out after the test back to their cars they feel strangely euphoric and filled with a sense of well-being, warmth and clarity.
All from a short burst of intense exercise. And that’s all it has to be.
If you’ve got no idea what to do or the best form of exercise to do then come and see me and I will give you a program.
But know this: YOU CANNOT BE OPTIMALLY WELL IF YOU DON’T EXERCISE. … and that is my message for today.
I urge everyone to p l e a s e take this seriously.
There are dozens and dozens of good reasons to exercise.
In upcoming posts I’ll be going into detail about the above causes of tiredness, so stay tuned.
I’ll also be talking about the most efficient forms of exercise and critical things you must do.
In the meantime make exercise a priority in your life…
It’s good time management. >>> You’ll achieve twice as much in half the time!
Wow! That’s a fourfold productivity increase!!
Regards,
Chris
